Résumé :	This is an overview of the VET system in Belgium. Information is presented according to the following themes : 1. External factors influencing VET : demography ; education level in Belgium ; the labour market ; the economic situation of Belgium. 2. Providing vocational education and training in a lifelong learning perspective : diagram of the Belgian education and training system ; government‐regulated VET provision ; apprenticeship and entrepreneurial training ; employment and vocational training ; validation of skills’ providers. 3. Shaping VET qualifications : systems and mechanisms to anticipate labour market needs ; by whom and in which manner are qualifications defined ? ; how do non-formal and informal training approval methods operate and what are the relations with qualification/certification ? ; certifications and the certification framework ; descriptions of quality assurance processes in VET. 4. Promoting participation in vocational education and training: assistance and support measures for training private individuals ; aid and support measures for training providers ; aid for companies offering vocational training.
