Résumé : | This is an overview of the VET system in the Netherlands. Information is presented according to the following themes : 1. External factors influencing VET : political and administrative context ; population and demographics ; economy and labour market indicators ; educational attainment of the population. 2. Providing vocational education and training in a lifelong learning perspective : overview of the Dutch education and training system ; government‐regulated VET provision (historical background ; legislative and institutional frameworks ; VET at lower secondary and upper secondary levels ; professional education at tertiary level) ; other forms of training provision. 3. Shaping VET qualifications : anticipation of skill needs ; qualification design and curriculum development ; macro-effectiveness of VET provision. 4.
