Résumé :	The on-going worldwide technological and economic changes as well as persisting unemployment are at the origin of the multiplication of vocational training programmes in recent years. This extraordinary expansion of the VET sector seems to have reached its limits though, due to restricted public funding in the EU Member States. Therefore questions arise as to which effects and under which conditions certain programmes produce. Thus, programmes are evaluated on their effectiveness. The methods of evaluation as used in various countries become in their turn the object of investigation, in attempt to improve them. The countries evaluated are : Belgium, France, Germany, Greece and Portugal.
